  • Mainly focused on payment

Unfortunately, podcasts are cutoff only if you become a member to pay a fee. Usually other podcasts creators are doing more advertisement in the podcast itself. This method this podcast creator is using I think is not the way.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Nigel Gould-Davies: Russia’s War Is Becoming Unsustainable. Now The Real Crisis Is About to Begin
Q: What will that crisis look like, and what are the indicators we should watch for in the near term?
The guest outlines that the crisis would be political and financial, driven by the gap between war needs and the economy's capacity to supply them, with potential social strains if voluntary recruitment wanes and if forced mobilization expands, alongside rising inflation and erosion of freedoms.
Nigel Gould-Davies: Russia’s War Is Becoming Unsustainable. Now The Real Crisis Is About to Begin
Q: Can you explain why Russia would need to imitate the Soviet model or impose broader controls, given that other states have managed similar mobilizations without such control levels?
He argues that while other states have mobilized, Russia's combination of relatively constrained political freedoms, a market-based economy, and the social acceptability of large-scale conscription under a full warning framework makes a Soviet-style level of control unlikely; instead, Russia might edge toward more limited, targeted restrictions if the war drags on.
Nigel Gould-Davies: Russia’s War Is Becoming Unsustainable. Now The Real Crisis Is About to Begin
Q: So to start, would you mind first just introducing the core overall thesis and argument that you're making there?
The guest explains that the central thesis is Russia's effort to sustain a prolonged war with increasing costs, without moving to a fully centralized war economy, which creates systemic strains and points toward an upcoming crisis as resources, manpower, and social tolerance tighten.
Ravi Agrawal: The Iran War Is Trump's Biggest Failure Yet. The World Is Watching America Lose
Q: But is that actually the case?
The guest explains that while one option resembles a return to the pre-war status quo, Iran would gain leverage, and the global community would still face significant risk and instability; the second option of ongoing escalation could cause broader economic damage and regional instability, with neither option delivering a clear win for the U.S.
Jack Watling: The Next Great War Is Already Taking Shape. What Happens Next Decides Everything
Q: What are the implications for Taiwan and the broader region if US commitments weaken or shift?
A weakening of US commitments could erode confidence among allies, elevate China's deterrence advantages in localized waters, and necessitate deeper regional partnerships to maintain deterrence and prevent escalation into a larger conflict.
