  • From a therapist’s standpoint

Love hearing insight from others in the field and learning nuances in treatment modalities and resources. It’s easy to get caught up in practice and forget that things are ever-changing. I’m currently in the throes of marriage counseling with a couple in which client A has NPD and client B has OCD, Anxiety and Depression (medicated). I’d love to see an episode addressing NPD in marriage counseling, namely if the couple is unaware of the NPD diagnosis. All signs point to discharge…give us some ho... more

  • EVERYONE NEEDS THIS PODCAST

Thank you Adam and Karrissa King for speaking truth on so many topics! The latest episode about Jesus and Counseling was so refreshing to listen to and know that you are opening doors for people in their mind that have been padlocked for years. The Truth will make us FREE!

I sat in a church culture for a lot of my early years as a baby christian that inflicted very toxic, harmful thinking about needing help and a host of many other issues into my mind. After working with an apostolic counselor... more

  • my go-to podcast

growing up as a conservative Christian yet pursuing a STEM/ medical degree and getting married at a “young age” there were a lot of topics that were taboo in which I wanted biblical explanations with a sound psychology/counseling insight and this hits every mark. Karissa and Adam do such a great job tying both worlds together and have been a giant help to my “young marriage”. Thank you both for all you do!

The Love Language That Matters MOST w/ Dr. Gary Chapman
Q: What is the love language that matters most, and how does it relate to the partner you're with?
The most important love language is the one that speaks to your partner; you need to focus on your spouse's language and its dialects, because meeting their emotional need is what strengthens the relationship.
Build Your Marriage With PRAYER w/ Brad & Heidi Mitchell
Q: What practical steps can a newly praying couple take to begin praying together regularly?
Start with a simple routine like a morning blessing, use a devotional designed for couples, and establish small, daily commitments (e.g., a 10-day segment with guided topics) to build momentum.
Build Your Marriage With PRAYER w/ Brad & Heidi Mitchell
Q: Why is there a gap between how important prayer is and how many couples actually pray together?
It often comes down to lack of modeling, misconceptions about how to pray, fear of judgment, and insecurity about who leads, which the guests address by sharing practical start-anywhere steps and the concept of initiator leadership.
“Not Wrong, Just Different Shades of RIGHT” — The Marriage Mindset That BREAKS Recurring Conflict w/ Dr. Emerson Eggerichs
Q: If someone's having a recurring argument this week and they just can't get over it, what should they ask themselves to determine if it's a 'different shades of right' issue or a moral wrong?
If the issue is a gray area or a preference, it's a different shade of right and not a moral wrong, so the couple should avoid black-and-white judgments and instead look for constructive, collaborative options. When in doubt, validation of the partner's position and exploring a third option can help determine whether a resolution exists that honors both sides.
COMMUNICATION Patterns that Can SABOTAGE or Strengthen a Marriage w/ Dr. David Burns
Q: What advice do you wish you would have received at the beginning of your marriage?
The incredible and surprising value just of human kindness.
