Dan Taberski (Hysterical, Missing Richard Simmons) sets off on his most complicated quest yet. He attempts to reclaim the manifesto from the sweaty clutches of mass shooters and return it to its rightful place: with the artists, the warriors, the visionaries, and the mildly crazy regular folks with something to say. Along the way, he even writes his own.

Two manifestos written at the same time, 3,000 miles apart: One is by legendary punk singer Kathleen Hanna; the other by a man enraged watching his people die of AIDS. Through them, Dan concludes his own manifesto in a way that shocks even him.

Interesting, moving, and funny, which is a hard trifecta to nail. Very well written.
Weak content for weak people
This guy Dan Taberski has a Great voice for radio! I Love his insight and he has a great way of making me use my brain when I listen to his work. This podcast is a Must Listen!
What a brilliant podcast, so many wonderful, inspiring lines and clips, dan is a wordmaster, and I loved his manifesto for manifesto.
Dan Taberski is a national treasure.
This is another two thumbs up, five star pod by Dan. Amazing research, rapturous storytelling, spectacular message.
Anything and everything Dan Taberski!!!!
I read Lisa’s review and believe her review is spot on. You gotta give it a chance but once in, you can’t or rather, don’t want to stop listening. I have learned so much - even at my newly entered 60’s. Even learned a bit of Korean. 🤭
Don’t listen to reviews from people who find factual reporting unbearable. This is a gorgeously done analysis of movements in moments of deep unrest/dissatisfaction and of our unique moment in history. If we can’t be honest about what’s happened before and what’s happening now, if we can’t hear how people have processed those times, we truly are lost. A democracy if we can keep it, folks. Bravo, Dan!
I think many people will enjoy this podcast…it’s just not my style.
Interesting but maddening how Dan pronounces Tunisia.
I’ve listened to a large number of podcasts, and this was easily one of the most disjointed I’ve encountered. It never really established a story or a clear premise, and I never had any sense of where it was going. The entertainment value was very low, and I honestly couldn’t find any redeeming qualities.
This is, of course, only my personal opinion, but I’m sorry I wasted my time listening to it. This is my first-ever 1-star rating.
Awesome documentary. Very well done and engaging. You will not regret listening to it!
Beautiful, thoughtful work. Thanks, Dan & Co. 10/10!
I did have to laugh — as I’m relishing in the beauty of the final words and the Wood Thrush song.... “listen on the audible app or Apple Podcasts” 😂😵💫🤣
Couldn’t get through the first episode. The violence listed was too overwhelming and emotionally taxing, and I’m not sure it’s justified. Not worth the emotional turmoil for me. I understand the importance of reflecting the reality and processing its hardness, but this didn’t feel adequate. Maybe I’m just not getting the genius here as some people claim the author to be. To me it was a bizarre listen that left me feeling very perplexed, confused and resolved to never read or listen to this perso... more
