  • Exudes lack of peace and joy

I don’t mind that he is self-taught and achieved his enlightenment on his own. However, there is a very good reason that monks often wait a decade or more after ordination before being permitted to give Dhamma talks. David’s hurried speaking is a symptom of a lack of maturity in the Dhamma and quite off-putting for those used to Dhamma talks and lectures given by monks or trained laypeople. • Thorough and practical

This is an excellent introduction to the teachings of the Buddha presented in clear and accessible language. Unlike many Buddhist podcasts, this one is practical rather than aspirational, and is a very useful guide and how to start and build a practice. I always thought the goal of the path was enlightenment, but now I know it's enlight-a-ment!

  • Beautiful teachings

David Roylance is well spoken and direct in his presentation of the Buddha’s teachings. I like to mix it up, sometimes listening to a class on the Pali canon and sometimes taking a weeklong retreat. David’s approach is what I’ve been looking for for many years.
