I’ve listened to every episode of Cut to Black, and was grateful to have the back catalog during the dark days of the pandemic. Talking sopranos on the other hand… I stopped listening to halfway through the first season. Mediocre, self-aggrandizing “insights” between half hearted ad reads for Bose headphones wasn’t worth my time. The “artist” and the “Everyman”🙄 … give me a break. I STILL listen to Cut to Black episodes daily. It has become a familiar and comfortable wind down at the end of the... more
This show is really funny. I can’t tell for sure but I think/hope Jakob finally realized it’s just Johnny Sack, not Sacks. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure Jim still thinks Tony’s mom’s name is Olivia. It’s just Livia, dude. Drove me crazy. more
I love PodaBing for it's loving attention to details, I enjoyed Talking Sopranos for it's insider stories (to a degree), but these two guys are so comforting to listen to, and they hit the right mark on analysis and opinion with personality that works. Great concept with the veteran and the n00b. Well done guys! five stars. (question, BURROWS? What kind of Swedish name is that? fill us in!!!)
When The Many Saints of Newark came out, I decided to do a sopranos rewatch. I tried a few companion podcasts, but quickly gravitated to Jim and Jakob. They recap the episode (which is great as I sometimes miss things), but also provide thoughtful analysis and opinions. As a bonus, they seem like good friends and it’s fun to hear them chat! I’m hoping to learn how Jim met a guy from Sweden (who speaks with no accent!), and why Jakob moved to Ireland.
Great analysis from Jakob and Jim. This is for those who enjoy Sopranos on more than one level. These gents look under the bonnet of everything from production to the hidden message behind different scenes. All this while not taking themselves too seriously. Excellent podcast !
You didn’t like Better Call Saul? That’s all I needed to know. Good luck, fellas 🤣🤣
Late to the podcast, but I recently started my fourth re watch of the series when I found you guys. Great insights, great commentary, and you guys have brought more things to my attention that I’ve never noticed before. Wish I would have found this when this started, I actually watched the series for the first time around the start of this podcast.
Jim and Jakob bring a ton of enthusiasm to what they do every week. They love the show, they do their homework, and they discuss it as fans - not as experts or as mafia wanna-bees. If you are looking to watch (or rewatch) The Sopranos with friends who appreciate the humor in the show as much as the violence than this is where its at. more
