  • What??

I just subscribed this pod and was looking through the episodes and they sounded good but a couple days later, the first episode on my feed from them is about queer romance. That’s not what I subscribed for. And from what I can tell, it doesn’t seem relative to the rest of the podcast??? It’s just random. So I unsubscribed cause, that’s not what I want to listen to. What in the world is this podcast even about??

  • Ignorance and hate

While I enjoy listening to the hosts conversations and dissection of important topics, her recent comments about how she stands against genocide in Gaza are confounding and disappointing. If she bothered to do an ounce of research she’d know the truth. And her virtue signaling to her leftist audience is meaningless. The host only speaks about this because it’s en vogue. She is silent on others and has no space for Jews and Israelis alike.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Finally a Conversation About a Car-Less Future That Won't Make You Feel Like Crap
Q: Do you genuinely think it's possible to be carless in a small spread out city without restricting opportunity or limiting family and education options?
They acknowledge it's challenging and highly dependent on local structure, but emphasize that achieving car-reduced living is possible with better housing proximity, walkable-and-transit-rich environments, and flexible planning; it's about expanding choices rather than denying them.
The Ridiculously Interesting History of Weird English Words
Q: Are there any words, phrases, or grammatical constructions commonly used today that you predict will cease to be considered bad English and will transition into standard usage?
Expressions like 'be like' will become mainstream, and terms like 'transpire' are being reinterpreted away from their original meanings to mean 'happen.'
The Ridiculously Interesting History of Weird English Words
Q: What's the deal with weird? Why do we spell it that way? It does not follow the I before E rule?
It originates from an old English word meaning fate or destiny and has evolved significantly since the Norman Conquest, with the spelling influenced by Scots.
The Ridiculously Interesting History of Weird English Words
Q: What the fuck is with the word yacht, which just took me three tries to spell, and my phone had no idea what word I was trying to spell correctly?
The spelling of 'yacht' comes from its Dutch origins, where it was originally spelled 'jacht,' which has caused the peculiar English spelling.
The Ridiculously Interesting History of Weird English Words
Q: What do you mean, it's raining? It is raining. What is it?
This happens in French too; English requires every verb to have a subject, necessitating the use of contract such as 'it.'
