Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Great Boulder Resources - Managing Director- Andrew Paterson Sept 2025
Q: So that study work that you talked about, is that mainly focused on Ironbark?
Yes, the ongoing studies are focused on Ironbark as the primary area of interest for potential mining, while keeping options open for other deposits and advancing the overall project toward a pre-feasibility stage.
Cosmo Metals - Managing Director - Ian Prentice
Q: What's next for Cosmo in terms of drilling and advancing targets like Spring Creek and Mount Everest Mona within your portfolio?
We'll start by drilling at Spring Creek to extend known mineralization, then work to bring other targets to drill-ready status. We're prioritizing Mount Everest Mona's VMS copper system and expand exploration across Nundle, with plans to map, sample, and drill in the near term to keep the project momentum moving.
Cosmo Metals - Managing Director - Ian Prentice
Q: You've joined Cosmo at an exciting juncture with large projects like Bingura and Nundle. Can you walk us through some of the historical activity and what you see as the key opportunities there?
The Bingura and Nundle areas are huge with significant historical mining, but modern exploration has been limited. We see substantial underexplored potential, especially with new data layers like LIDAR and multi-element geochemistry that can reveal intrusion-related gold system targets and other large-scale opportunities. Our plan is to map, sample, and drill-ready key targets, while leveraging the history to guide future discoveries.
Cosmo Metals - Managing Director - Ian Prentice
Q: Can you start by telling us how you got into the mining industry and provide a high-level summary of your working background?
I grew up in Western Australia and was inspired by geologists around me. I studied geology, worked across exploration and mining in WA, the Northern Territory, and Queensland, then moved into the stockbroking world before returning to the mining sector with Cosmo. The path gave me broad exposure to both technical and financial aspects of mining and investment, which I now combine in leading Cosmo's exploration strategy.
Exploring WA's Northern Goldfields - Yandal Resources (ASX:YRL) Managing Director Chris Oorschot
Q: What is the strategy behind your exploration approach and how does Arrakis fit into that?
The team uses a mineral systems approach, leveraging large-scale datasets ( soils, auger, gravity), to locate regions with the capacity for a large system, then focusing on high-potential targets like Arrakis by testing beneath transported cover and expanding drilling progressively to define the system's boundaries.
