Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

'Am I wrong?' What's next when you question your political beliefs?
Q: When you joined us more than a year ago, you were confident that more people would join your movement out of MAGA over time. Are you surprised?
It's hard to gauge how many people quietly left or have doubts, but some anecdotal evidence suggests widening chasms within the movement.
'Am I wrong?' What's next when you question your political beliefs?
Q: Rich, what at the time did you think of January 6th, when it happened?
I was embarrassed to admit that what perturbed me was my concern that the insurrectionists were harming our chances of a 2024 comeback.
REBROADCAST: Why are we still interested in centuries-old myths?
Q: Is there a religious element to Krampus?
Absolutely. Krampus serves as a foil to Santa Claus, representing good versus evil, and has historical ties to pagan roots that were later adapted by Christian traditions.
REBROADCAST: Why are we still interested in centuries-old myths?
Q: Why don't we all know about Krampus, Jeff?
Krampus started in Austria and Germany, and he went away from public consciousness in December 1931 due to the rising popularity of consumerism cultivated by the Coca-Cola marketing of Santa Claus.
A test to catch AI cheaters
Q: Do you think students realize they might actually fail?
Some students may not realize the finality of real-life consequences, but many feel entitled to good grades due to perceived transactional nature of education.
