  • Very insightful

I listened to episode 14th October. Episode was very insightful for understanding the psychology of getting people onboard with the climate movement from a person who clearly has a lot of experience. I recommend a listen.

  • Positive but honest

Usually when we hear stories about the climate it's either all doom and gloom or it's overly optimistic, glossing over the hard stuff. This podcast is a breath of fresh air: positive stories with depth and honesty.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Can you eat meat AND care about the planet? | Frank Holleman, Founder of Fork Ranger
Q: What does it look like to eat more sustainably beyond simply reducing beef?
It involves a broader approach including reducing food waste at home, seasonal eating, and making sustainable choices that still feel enjoyable, not sacrificing the positive aspects of meals.
Can you eat meat AND care about the planet? | Frank Holleman, Founder of Fork Ranger
Q: What is the hardest part of eating sustainably for newcomers?
The hardest part is the behavior change itself and overcoming the fear and disruption of changing long-held habits, followed by social pressures when eating with others.
Climate Scientist: Why Net Zero 2050 is a Dangerous Delusion | Kevin Anderson
Q: Why is Net Zero 2050 seen as misleading or insufficient by the guest?
Because end-date framing obscures ongoing emissions, ignores inequities, and delays necessary action; what matters is the pathway, the speed of reductions, and the systemic changes required today.
Climate Scientist: Why Net Zero 2050 is a Dangerous Delusion | Kevin Anderson
Q: What three concepts should someone understand about climate change?
Recognize the scale of the temperature changes, the remaining carbon budget to stay within 1.5–2 degrees, and the timeline that requires rapid, comprehensive reform rather than waiting for a distant target.
The National Security Topic Britain Is Too Scared to Cover | General Richard Nugee CB CVO CBE
Q: How does national security intersect with climate and biodiversity in practical terms?
National security encompasses more than military force; it includes reliable energy and water supplies, food security, and resilient infrastructure. The conversation reframes security to include the ability for people to lead normal lives and for the country to withstand climate-related shocks, with renewables and diversification as core elements.
