  • STOP THE “YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE” PODCAST INSERTIONS!!!!!

I enjoy the podcast although I do wish it had more diversity of voices across the political spectrum as it leans very progressive (I get it, it’s Denver). That said, I appreciate that the show keeps me clued in to what’s going on in the city.

3 stars for adding unrelated podcasts to its feed via the “YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE” feature. When multiple podcasts do this it makes my playlists useless with auto playing 50% of podcasts I’m not subscribed to, nor have any interest in. STOP IT!!!! NO, I don’... more

  • Paul seems to be kind of a centrist loser, but they do have fantastic guests. I just cringe every time Paul pulls back to be the "devil's advocate" position.

  • The worst

If you love listening to white progressives lecture you about all the causes, this is your show. Bree sighs, a lot, to really really emphasize how compassionate she is. Unfortunately her brain is powered by a hamster wheel so she only knows the buzzwords like “no human is illegal on stolen land.” Oh and she’s a big fan of diners and Betty bop. So listen in as they talk about progressive policies, as if they haven’t failed and ruined every great American city, while they bring on a barrage of gue... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

'Your City Could Be Better': Could a Nevada Brothel Help Redefine Labor Standards Nationwide? — Presented By City Cast Denver
Q: What are the main arguments on each side regarding classification, and what could change if the NLRB rules differently?
Proponents of employee status argue the brothel controls work conditions and payments, while contractors claim autonomy and contract-based arrangements; an NLRB ruling could ripple across other industries by influencing how similar workers are classified and protected.
'Your City Could Be Better': Could a Nevada Brothel Help Redefine Labor Standards Nationwide? — Presented By City Cast Denver
Q: What is the distinction between an employee and an independent contractor in this context, and why does it matter?
An employee status would enable unionizing and access to protections like minimum wage, overtime, and workers' comp, whereas independent contractors are treated as self-directed for the most part, with limited protections; this distinction drives leverage in negotiations and potential legal arguments.
Who Profits Off 'Captive Pricing' at DIA? Plus, 'No Kings' Energy Rising and an Underrated Nugget
Q: Why is captive pricing at DIA particularly problematic from a public governance perspective?
Because the airport operates on public property with a public interest, excessive markups can function as a subsidy to private concessionaires while the public bears the cost, and misaligned incentives emerge when both the concessionaires and the airport profit from higher prices.
Who Profits Off 'Captive Pricing' at DIA? Plus, 'No Kings' Energy Rising and an Underrated Nugget
Q: What is the core concern about the 'unitary executive theory' in the context of Colorado funding?
Supporters argue it could centralize decision-making in the presidency, potentially bypassing Congress; critics warn it threatens constitutional checks and could destabilize funding for states like Colorado, especially in sensitive political moments.
‘Your City Could Be Better’: DC’s Plan To Hold Federal Agents Accountable — Presented By City Cast Denver
Q: What's the mayor's stance on these bills, and what risks does DC face in pushing them forward?
The mayor has had a complex stance, balancing pressure from police reforms supporters and the politics of opposing federal overreach; pushing the bills forward risks political backlash and possible Congressional veto, but is framed as protecting local control and accountability.
