An excellent podcast carefully covering classic Chinese novels.
The narrator does a great job with pacing. He also avoids spoilers and provides commentary to bring these old ideas into more present understanding. The result is a very binge-worthy story.
I love this podcast because it is not only entertaining, but also provides a learning experience. As a busy student, I often listen to this on the car or when making meals as a way to relax. John’s sense of humor gives a nice touch to these Chinese classics and the episodes are very engaging. Once again, great job and keep it up.
After listening to hundreds of hours and all 3 podcasts I am finally writing a review to say I absolutely love this series. As a Canadian who had never heard of these stories I am very thankful for the work John Zhu has put in to bring these classics to the western audience. His narrating is incredibly enjoyable, and the passion and background knowledge he brings to every episode really improves the experience.
