因著人墮落而有了罪，死就進來，如今在地上工作，將一切有罪的人聚攏到陰間，就是拘留死人的地方。然而，在召會生活裏，我們不再受死亡和陰間的支配。基督在十字架上廢掉了死，並且在祂的復活裏勝過了陰間。雖然死盡其所能要扣住祂，卻沒有能力這樣作。（徒二24。）基督是神，也是復活，（約一1，十一25，）有不能毀壞的生命。（來七16。）因為祂是這樣一位永活者，死就不能拘禁祂。祂將自己交於死，死卻無法扣住祂；反而死被祂擊敗，祂就從死裏復活了。因此，對基督而言，死沒有毒刺，陰間也沒有能力。（新約總論第三冊... more

〔啟示錄九章一節〕的星是指撒但，他要從天上摔到地上。天使被比喻作星。（伯三八7，啟十二4。）撒但是天使長，原是明亮之星。（賽十四12。）他在路加十章十八節已經受了審判。在啟示錄九章這裏以及十二章九至十節，乃是那審判的執行。
〔十二章〕啟示，男孩子被提到天上後，要與撒但爭戰。…按照這一章，撒但要在末了的三年半開始時，從天上落下去。…這一點強有力的證明，大災難的開始，不會早過這時，因為在此以前，撒但仍在天上。

彼前三章十九至二十節告訴我們，基督的肉體死了以後，立刻在靈裏剛強活躍，去向那些在挪亞時代的悖逆者宣揚祂的得勝。『在靈裏』（18）不是指聖靈，乃是指那作基督神性素質的靈。（羅一4，參約四24上。）（李常受文集一九八四年第三冊，二一六至二一七頁。）
