新約中所啟示神聖生命的交通，是抽象的、奧祕的，非常難以解釋。約壹一章三節裏『交通』一辭，希臘原文意『一同參與，共同分享』。
用來說明交通最好的例子就是電。電雖奧祕，卻很真實。當電流通過燈泡或日光燈管時，電就被顯明。…燈泡和燈管是由電流連接的。…這電流就是交通的例子。交通就是所有已經接受並得著神聖生命之信徒裏面永遠生命的流。藉著電流，所有的家被維繫在一裏。照樣，藉著永遠生命的流通，就是交通，所有的信徒得以保守在一裏。（李常受文集一九九○年第一冊，四三七至四三八頁。）
