〔在以弗所二章十節，〕『善良事工』就是基督。神工作的目的，就是基督。我們當行走在這工作裏。…許多時，我們是為興趣而作工，不是為基督。許多時，人東跑西奔，作工得了名譽。他們作了工，卻未事奉神。神從永世到永世作工，都是要叫祂兒子在萬有中居首位。所以，我們作工，也當為著基督。神若未洗淨我們的存心和動機，我們就不能蒙神的賜福。我們作工，不是為罪人，乃是為基督。我們工作的成功有多少，是看基督在裏面有多少。…作工不當為自己的興旺、自己的團體、自己的信息而作工，當為基督而作工。只要神有所得著，我們就... more

神原初的心意是要人喫生命樹。（創二9，16。）因著人墮落了，生命樹就向人封閉。（三22～24。）藉著基督的救贖，接觸生命樹（就是神自己在基督裏作人生命）的路再次向人打開。（來十19～20。）然而在召會的墮落中，宗教及其知識偷偷進來打岔在基督裏的信徒，使他們不能喫祂這棵生命樹。因此，主應許得勝者，要把祂自己這神樂園中生命樹的果子給他們喫，作為賞賜。這是一種激勵，叫他們離開宗教的知識，回來享受主自己。主這個應許，是要照著神的經綸，把召會恢復到神原初的心意裏。主要得勝者作的，就是全召會在神的... more

神的生命在我們裏面所遇到的頭一個難處，就是我們不認識我們人的觀念乃是黑暗的。…一般基督徒都以為，作了基督徒就該大發熱心，撇下世界；這從人看條條是道，但實際上卻是沒有神，沒有生命，且是行不通的。…你得救時，接受了一位活的基督，祂在你裏面作了你的生命。
作基督徒不是以任何事物為對象，基督徒只該以基督為對象。許多人得救後，所以有生命上的難處，都是因為他們不認識生命的道路，不以基督作生命。（李常受文集一九五三年第一冊，一七一至一七二、一七五頁。）
