I’ve listened to this podcast for 2 years. Kevin verbally stammers at the beginning of every sentence, which is annoying, but if the content were good, I’d still listen. More frustrating than that is his “Love Styles” book, and most recent podcasts are a repackaging of the “Love Languages”, “Enneagrams”, or “Meyers-Briggs” personality frameworks that categorize behavior and motivation. It’s almost like a Christian twist on horoscopes. Basically, you’re asked to use a checklist or test to evaluat... more

Love Styles Part 5: Attachment Theory, the Bible, and Healing
Q: What is attachment theory and what does it mean in practice?
Attachment theory is explained as a framework for understanding how early needs and caregiver responses shape one's sense of self, others, and God. It's not about blaming parents but about explaining how past experiences influence present relationships, with a path toward secure attachment through awareness, gospel-centered healing, and community.
Perimenopause & Marriage: What Every Couple Should Know w/ Dr. Barbara Wilson
Q: What would a woman in this stage want her husband to know so they can be proactive and normalize the conversation?
Barb emphasizes open dialogue, timing conversations for non-crisis moments, and recognizing that hormonal changes can alter mood and behavior in ways that aren't personal, so partners should approach with empathy and avoid blaming or fix-it suggestions during episodes.
Grief, Marriage, and Going on Offense w/ Taylor & Chloe Gall
Q: How did you guys walk through that and get through that season?
We had to lean into community and prayer, while being vulnerable with friends who supported our marriage.
Mind Reading Is Ruining Your Relationship
Q: How do we stop hurting each other like this and make this year's Valentine's Day better?
Communicate openly about expectations and needs, and express gratitude for efforts rather than focusing solely on outcomes.
Red Flags, Real Talk, and Rebuilding Trust
Q: Is separation ever a healthy step for a striking couple?
Yes, it may be necessary during serious issues like addiction or abuse, but ideally under professional guidance to prevent drifting apart permanently.
