Figured out some technology so that I could interview Steve Backus over the phone. So excited for you to hear some of the history of carving events in The United States. Be patient with the audio, as phone quality isn't quite as good.
I talk with Jamie Doeren and Scott Simmons at the 2025 US Open Chainsaw Carving Championships in it's new location in Watertown, New York at Burrville Power Equipment.
As a chainsaw carver myself. Its great to hear everyones approach on carving, tips and background .
More interviews please and thank you
Although I just do chainsaw carving for fun always wish to improve and hear from the pros. Thank you Molly for putting this up for us
This was a good podcast. I like that Steve said you don’t need a lot of tools to get the job done. I am a new carver and really enjoy it. I have sold a bunch of pieces in my succulent store and have been upgrading my tools as I go. Jordy and Steve, thanks for helping all the new carver’s with safety and not wasting money on tools that are not needed.

I just listened to the podcast with Paul Frenette and I am hooked! Can’t wait to listen to more episodes. I consider myself a very “amateur” chainsaw carver and hope to learn all I can from the professionals.
Brilliant, finally the pod cast I keep searching for.
