I am a bit underwhelmed with the latest episode as their trying to empathise with the fraudster and try to be balanced. But it’s just really poorly done and I’m not sure why they bothered with this latest episode as it’s just telling us she’s has faked her identity again. But no real new news.

I normally love Sue Perkins but the delivery and convo between the two hosts feels forced and disingenuous. Also leans into the mumsnet tabloid outrage that better investigative podcasts tend to avoid. I’d guess Sue bought the rights to a Vice article and the journalist insisted on being a part of the podcast which has led to it feeling a bit wooden. Good story but could be way better made.

It seems like they did some investigation but it’s hard to see it, overall this just feels really thin and surface level. It could have been one long episode but for the narrator’s frequent interruptions to make sure she is Saying The Right Things. Which is fine, it just shouldn’t be the focus over the story. more
