  • Excellent

Thoughtful and informative interviews. Great podcast.

The one with Pete Best was easily the “best” interview with him I’ve heard. Great decision to focus on his personal experiences as a member of the early Beatles versus rehashing the story of his sacking, which has been done to death. This approach allowed him to open up and paint a really vivid picture of the Hamburg days.

Also digging the Squeeze and XTC interviews. Thank You!

  • Great questioning

Listened to Colin molding and have to say you came across as big fan. That and your honest inquiring lead him to reveal some things I don’t know. The garage thing. lol.

Just shy of getting him to admit that if XTC got together and toured they would each prob make 2 million$ in a summer. Even as a nostalgia tour.

  • Never fails to entertain and enlighten

Initially I was drawn in to the guest appearances by the 80s Southern Jangle Pop guests, but now I trust his taste that I know I’ll find something worthwhile in each episode regardless of the guest. - Jefferson Hart

Learning so much from Marc and his guests! Especially the old original (mostly) guys. The intros are though provoking. The talents stand for themselves. And Marc doesn’t interrupt his guests. A+

Ike Reilly
Q: How did the SiriusXM show come about and what impact has it had on your career?
A meeting with the head of SiriusXM led to a platform where I could share my music and talk about it, expanding my audience beyond live gigs and recordings.
Ike Reilly
Q: Did you set out to make your family a multi-generational band, and how have you navigated that dynamic?
I never forced anything; I allowed it to happen organically, letting the kids pursue what they loved and inviting them into the studio as equals, which kept the work honest and collaborative.
Swamp Dogg
Q: Can you describe your songwriting process and how you balance writing with collaborating with others?
Swamp Dogg reveals a flexible process where he writes lyrics first, often without a strict structure, then seeks collaborators to refine melodies and production; he emphasizes that melodies come easily to him and that working with others keeps the sound fresh and commercially viable.
Swamp Dogg
Q: What was going through your mind when you decided to tackle controversial subjects in your music, and how did that affect your career?
He describes a conscious choice to push boundaries, noting that Electra dropped him after a politically charged tour with Jane Fonda, but also highlighting that maintaining creative autonomy and backing what he believes in has long-term value, even if it complicates relationships with labels.
Swamp Dogg
Q: How did you end up working with John Prine and developing your collaboration over the years?
Swamp Dogg explains that he and John Prine connected in Chicago during the late 1960s, stayed in touch over the years, and found shared respect and chemistry that led to multiple writing ventures; the collaboration evolved as they experimented with tempo and arrangements to better reflect Prine's influence while keeping Swamp Dogg's own style.
