A match. Peeeyyeewwwwdddeeeeoooodddeeee. Your peeling the paint off the walls Vish.
This guy is one of the absolute worst interviewers. Fantastic lineup of guests but some of these conversations, like the one with Ira of Yo La Tengo, are so awkward you can feel the tension over the airwaves. The conversation was mostly a one-sided rant by Vish about various concerns that bothered him. The funniest part was when he brought up children’s entertainers in the context of longevity which even Vish seemed to quickly understand was irrelevant at best, insulting at worst. Came here for the first time to hear the latest Tortoise interview. After getting all the advertising and political opinion out of the way, we got like less than ten minutes with the artists, and basically nothing about the new album. Unfollowed.
Just listened to the Ty Segall episode and have tuned in and out of this pod over years and years because of the great guests. But dang, get out of the way of the questions! Also the Canadian perspecti... more

The show centers on in-depth conversations with musicians, artists, and cultural creators, often digging into creative process, collaboration, and the shifting economics of making art. Episodes frequently explore songwriting, recording spaces, crowdfunding and fan engagement, and the personal journeys behind independent projects. A standout is the emphasis on long-form, practical storytelling—balancing technical craft with behind-the-scenes anecdotes—often with a Canadian or North American indie lens. Listeners can expect thoughtful, sometimes intimate discussions with a mix of bands, solo artists, writers, and visual artists who navigate DIY culture and community-supported media.
