Thank you for making this podcast and organising and recording the making of one of my favourite albums, Bat For Lashes - Fur & Gold
This has become my new can’t-miss podcast. I eagerly anticipate each new episode - and I’m always surprised that some of my favorite albums keep getting chosen for the deep dive treatment. Keep up the great work, Dan!
This is a highly engaging podcast. Having band members speak about a specific album in their catalogue is both refreshing and compelling listening.
My favorite is the podcast on Violent Femmes; however, the Pogues and Manchester Orchestra were equally interesting. On this podcast, the band members’ share anecdotes and unique insights into the studio dynamics behind, usually, their best album.
Admittedly I’ve only listened to the episode about the Long After Dark album by TP and the Heartbreakers. Essential listening for the Heartbreakers fan. Surprisingly well done with plenty of interludes of the record. Adria Petty is great, very insightful. Campbell and Lynch too. No interviewer getting in the way, just documentary bliss.
Thanks for this podcast. You do a superb job of assembling a story out of multiple interviews. I’ve really enjoyed listening, and I’ve learnt a lot. Thank you.

Focused explorations of classic albums told through the artists and producers who made them, with a strong emphasis on origin stories, recording approaches, and the cultural context surrounding each record. Episodes mix intimate anecdotes from creators with technical details about production, songwriting, and studio choices, often weaving in archival clips and behind‑the‑scenes memories. Noteworthy are the long-form conversations that let the subjects speak for themselves, the reverence for overlooked or indie records, and the way episodes age like archival oral histories for music fans and industry listeners alike.
