I listen to a lot of podcasts. It is rare that I come across a podcast that is fundamentally different than what I think it is. Val is a host that can literally change things for you. She changes your mindset. She changes what you get out of a podcast. She has the ability to connect with you in a way that you weren’t expecting. This is a great show.
Val uses her personal and professional experiences to translate sport / performance psychology concepts for everyone that can be understood. It’s easy to consider how to apply her teaching points in your sport life right now, whatever that role is for you as an athlete, coach, or supporter.
As both a father of athletes and a high school coach, the questions and strategies Val uses in this podcast are invaluable in opening up a line of communication. Stop asking “How was your day?” in the car ride home and put on these podcasts. You will not regret it. When you are done with the podcast-read her books! Well done-again-Val! 💪🏻
This is a very interesting idea for parents and coaches to work on making mentorships and car rides with your children count for more than just a car ride. The host has great tips and tools and questions.
