I’m a husband and father of two boys in South Africa. I’m a teacher at a boys only school, and hearing dudes being honest and real to themselves and sharing their experiences is what men and women need to hear more of in this world.

This was a great episode fellas! I’ve been using Enclomiphene for about 9 months now because my testosterone levels were down in the 600 range. With a better diet, staying consistent with my workouts and the medicine. My levels have jumped up to around 1100. However, my SHGB is still super high. Which is preventing my body from using the testosterone more efficiently. I’m at the point that I’m wondering if I should be on TRT. I’m in my mid 40s and have lost over 60 pounds but I know I cou... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Chris Hinshaw: CrossFit’s Hidden Role in the HYROX Boom
Q: How should athletes balance heart-rate monitoring with the desire to perform at high intensity during longer events?
Heart-rate monitoring is a useful guide, but performance should be judged by speed and ability to complete tasks efficiently. Training should meet athletes where they are, with zone-two work for longevity, and targeted sessions to improve lactate tolerance and anaerobic capacity when appropriate.
Chris Hinshaw: CrossFit’s Hidden Role in the HYROX Boom
Q: Do you think CrossFit Games events should rotate or maintain consistency year over year like Hyrox does?
A blend would work best: some rotational elements to keep it fresh, alongside a core structure that preserves recognizability for spectators and athletes. Bringing in external perspectives can help diversify the events while maintaining a recognizable CrossFit identity.
Chris Hinshaw: CrossFit’s Hidden Role in the HYROX Boom
Q: What is your take on how Hyrox and CrossFit coexist in Europe, and how could that relationship evolve in the U.S. and elsewhere?
Hyrox provides new participants to CrossFit affiliates and, with the right coaching and exposure, can become a bridge rather than a rival. The key is to integrate CrossFit coaching into Hyrox events and let affiliates showcase what they do best, while ensuring the events stay exciting and accessible to newcomers.
The One Thing Dads Just Can't Do
Q: Tell me more about this Marathon experience and why you chose to attempt it.
Gabe explains that racing provides a concrete goal that drives accountability, helps structure training and travel logistics, and delivers a deep sense of fulfillment from testing oneself against a tough, long-duration objective.
The Testosterone Epidemic with Nick Koumalatsos
Q: How do fertility protocols fit with testosterone therapy for men who want children later in life?
Fertility protocols can be used alongside TRT to allow fatherhood later, with the understanding that bloodwork and medical guidance are essential to manage hormones safely.
