  • Content Doesn’t Get Much Better!

With so many podcasts on the market today, it is so hard to break through the noise. I was recently turned on to Brave Dynamics by a friend of mine, and after tuning into a couple of episodes, it has made it’s way into my weekly routine! I literally leave 1 un-listened episode in my queue simply because I hate the thought of running out of Jeremy content! Keep it up!!

  • Authentic & Inspirational

I especially loved Episode #10, where Andrew Ive talks about how the younger generation is realizing that every dollar, pound or Euro that they spend is a vote. Incredibly useful in kickstarting my thought process around customers & the entrepreneur’s relationship with them

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Anthony Chow: From Airbnb Hustle to Global Smart Locks, COVID Pivot & the Rise of the Rental Economy – E676
Q: What led to the pivot from a simple Airbnb hardware idea to a broader platform?
The team realized Wi-Fi dependent locks failed in many Airbnb scenarios, so they developed a non-connected lock with one-time codes, which then enabled a platform (Igloo Connect) and broader applications beyond home sharing.
Anthony Chow: From Airbnb Hustle to Global Smart Locks, COVID Pivot & the Rise of the Rental Economy – E676
Q: Could you introduce yourself to the audience?
Anthony Chow introduces himself as co-founder and CEO of Igloo Home, recounting his background at Singtel, time in Stanford, and early Airbnb experiments that led to Igloo's creation.
JX Lye: Execution Is the Moat, Fintech’s Reset & Why Speed Beats Strategy – E674
Q: What have been the biggest macro-fintech shifts that influenced your thinking recently?
The guest discusses the fintech boom during the COVID period followed by a cooling in valuations, the reliance on macro liquidity, and the realization that execution matters more than chasing grand strategy. He emphasizes vertical AI and niche, industry-specific applications as the sustainable path, rather than chasing generic model competition.
JX Lye: Execution Is the Moat, Fintech’s Reset & Why Speed Beats Strategy – E674
Q: Could you share a little bit more about how the company has evolved over the past two years?
The guest explains Acme started from simplifying bank connectivity and has evolved into three offerings: bank connectivity for fintech platforms, eGyro Direct Debit, and ERP connectivity. The company remains focused on core pipes that connect to banks, while expanding into direct debit across Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, and then into ERP for mid-market and enterprise. The evolution also reflects a shift from reliance on credibility and network to building scalable productized solutions and expanding customer segments.
AI Workforce Compression, SGX Liquidity Gaps & Singapore’s Startup Reckoning with Adriel Yong – E673
Q: What do you think is top of mind for you on the AI side in Singapore right now?
The speed of AI development is incredibly rapid, with new models and capabilities appearing almost daily. There is concern about the potential for both dramatic productivity gains and significant displacement, which makes governance, workforce retraining, and clear incentives essential.
