  • This podcast is the real deal — and I say that as someone currently in her somatic training

I've been listening to every episode throughout my training, and honestly? I cannot get enough. What sets this podcast apart is the way Britt doesn't just talk about somatic work, she helps you actually feel it. Her ability to present this material in a way that lands in the body, not just the mind, is rare and genuinely powerful.

As a slow flow yoga teacher and embodiment guide, I know how hard it is to translate this kind of deep, nuanced work into something accessible without watering it dow... more

  • Healing in all forms

This is my first time reviewing a podcast, even though I’m an avid listener. Britt Piper has a way of clearly and lovingly, exposing the truth of what I’ve been feeling for my 30 years on this planet. Her voice, her wisdom, and her softness create a pathway of love and healing.

  • Love the content but is it ai?

I love this podcast, Britt’s work, and the content that’s provided, but I can’t help to feel like the episodes are scripted by AI based on language, particular words, formatting and the way things are explained. Every episode I have the same thought which is a shame.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Q&A: Intrusive Thoughts, Expanding Capacity & Learning to Receive Support
Q: How do you heal abandonment wounds and grief?
Healing involves awareness without shame, creating corrective experiences, choosing consistent, emotionally available partners and friends, and engaging in relational risk to rebuild trust; grief management includes support, slow pacing, and allowing emotions to move through the nervous system.
Q&A: Intrusive Thoughts, Expanding Capacity & Learning to Receive Support
Q: Where can I find a somatic practitioner and what should I look for?
Look for practitioners who move slowly, seek consent, check in moment-to-moment, prioritize stabilization, and keep sessions within your window of tolerance; red flags include overemphasis on immediate release or forcing activation; advice includes questions to ask about handling dysregulation and supervision.
Q&A: Intrusive Thoughts, Expanding Capacity & Learning to Receive Support
Q: Can you explain intrusive thoughts from a somatic perspective and why they feel terrifying, especially when anxiety spirals?
Intrusive thoughts are cognitive interpretations of unresolved survival energy; neuroception detects threat before conscious mind; when arousal is high, thoughts become frightening, but the mind's narrative can be softened by grounding, extending exhalations, and engaging body-based strategies.
Q&A: Intrusive Thoughts, Expanding Capacity & Learning to Receive Support
Q: Seeing that you have so many things to pour into, how big is your team and who supports you?
Britt explains she started as a one-person operation and now has a team that includes a podcast manager, operations support, moderators, advisors, and mentors; growth of her business mirrors the nervous system's capacity to receive support, emphasizing interdependence over hyperindependence.
Elizabeth Orrigo on Healing Chronic Pain, Avoiding Toxic Wellness Traps & Working with Your Body
Q: What are some of the modalities or practices that have helped you in moving through your chronic illness?
Nervous system regulation practices and journaling have been pivotal in my healing process.
