This is a good podcast that covers the current week (like where we’re at), the recent past (like what got us where we are) and thoughts on future direction. Like a little lesson, wise reminders and opportunity ETF’s to look at.

The participants are all professional and appreciated. I tune in each week and have made decent mods and check-ups to my BMO ETF’s portfolio. The intro and summary guy is awesome, the host is awesome and the (usually) two guests are awesome.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Open Outcry: Credit Market Positioning for the Year Ahead
Q: What role does the Fed's trajectory play in your positioning?
Anticipate intermittent Fed cuts and potential divergence with the BoC; position to benefit from expected steepening amid falling long-end yields while monitoring volatility around policy shifts.
The Open Outcry: Credit Market Positioning for the Year Ahead
Q: How do you balance income generation with interest rate risk in a typical credit portfolio?
Maintain a strategy that leverages duration to manage spread risk, target a neutral-to-long duration stance as needed, and utilize tools like CDX for risk management while keeping room to add to credit.
The Open Outcry: Credit Market Positioning for the Year Ahead
Q: What are you thinking about this year for credit given geopolitical landmines?
The market remains resilient in credit despite headlines; expect new issuance to keep spreads relatively wide in early year, creating selective opportunities to add to credit especially in high yield as spreads widen to absorb issuance.
E298 – 2026 ETF Industry Flows & Market Trends
Q: What role do healthcare and infrastructure play in the 2026 outlook?
Healthcare offers a hedge against AI risk and can complement quality stocks, while infrastructure exposure, especially in electrification, provides upside with relatively low liquidity risk and long-duration revenue streams.
E298 – 2026 ETF Industry Flows & Market Trends
Q: Are we in an AI bubble, and how should investors position?
There is a sense of bubble risk, but profitability potential remains if investors focus on firms with strong balance sheets and the capability to convert AI spend into sustainable earnings; the approach should be selective and active rather than broad-based beta exposure.
