It's incredible to me that this podcast is not only free, but ad-free. Definitely the best movie podcast I've ever listened to, but also one of my all time favorite podcasts in general. Movie recommendations? I've found so, so many great movies that I otherwise never would have - and that's in addition to the ones they actually review! 500 characters isn't enough to do them justice, so if you love movies (and *not* just arthouse horror) do yourself a favor and check out this podcast.
I don’t respect many people’s opinions on the internet but Josh and Dru are a different story. They’re both so knowledgeable when it comes to arthouse, film, horror, and so many other things. They’re the reason I got a Letterboxd account. If you’re a horror fan, this is a must listen. I love that they don’t really spoil the movie a lot or at all in some cases so you can listen even if you haven’t seen the film they’re talking about. I hope this pod goes on forever because it’s one of the very fe... more
I’ve discovered (and rediscovered) so many wonderful obscure horror films thanks to this pod. Joshua and Drusilla provide thoughtful critique and insightful commentary on releases old and new. Informed, queer, fun and the right amount of edge to keep things interesting.
There’s a refreshing air about this podcast that I enjoy. The hosts really seem to love most movies and appreciate the nuances of imperfect ones that are harder to love. Bonus points: they also love Guy Maddin the way i love Guy Maddin.
Great interesting mix of films, and love there’s an overarching genre focus. Drusilla and Josh’s discussions are fun and they have so much knowledge and insight, it’s a perfect jumping off point for further reflection. In fact, my new favourite thing to do after a new watch is check if there’s been a Bloodhaus pod episode and follow up the viewing with that. Couldn’t recommend it more!
