This is such a rich resource. Shena helps us understand that there are behaviors/responses that we’ve been familiar with since childhood that have held on to us into our adult relationships. I’ve come back to the BGH podcast many times over the years to help me remember this and to be gentle with myself. Thank you!
This episode was a beautiful reminder of who I am. After going through years of being with someone as described in this episode; I am now left with a blurred identity of self. It will take time but I have hope that I will find me again and be anchored in my identity and self-worth.
Thank you
I’m so glad I found this podcast! Shena Lashey is great at breaking down and communicating complicated psychological concepts and making them understandable. I love how she makes healing and dealing with being a SLAA actionable and doable, not overwhelming. AND I love that this podcast is from a BIPOC point of view, it’s like water to a person stranded in the desert.
This is a show that gets deep on one of the most existential healing places for Black women--our hearts, our relationships to others, but mostly to ourselves. This is deep ancestral, true lover girl healing and I'm so happy this podcast exists!
The host is the healer this world needs. Thank you for your bold voice and clear truth. Good job.
