  • Fun and Interesting, but …

Starlings were not released in the US because they were mentioned by Shakespeare—there once existed the American Acclimatization Society which aimed to introduce non-native species to North America for a variety of reasons. Immigrants wanted to introduce European bird species to the US.

This is an absolute gem of a podcast for bird lovers. History, biology, etymology, music, poetry - all of it is here. I only wish each episode were longer. Fantastic and worth a listen everyday.

  • Excellent Information - Short but sweet

A pleasant informative short story, all non-fiction. Verbal imagery is only surpassed by the sounds of the subject species. I wish I could use this as my morning alarm. Awaken indoors with the sounds of birds and a brief, but substantially informative few minutes.

    Please continue.
