Hiya trans MtF here, I was recommended this podcast I thought I would be fun and quirky, so I started ep 1 but then within the first 20 minutes they really leaned hard into man-hating to the point were I feel like I was being talked down to. I know they didn’t mean anything by it saying they aren’t man-haters but then immediate contradict the statement with “men’s taste are all terrible” so honestly I don’t know what to think and I wanna drop this podcast asap.
Absolutely adore and have learned so much from this podcast, however i have recommended this show to three separate people and all of them said they couldn't get past the cold opens (i have to tell them to skip to the 40 minute mark which also leaves them skeptical when they learn the cold open is that long). A sharp, culturally tuned show that blends sociology, psychology, and humor to unpack pop culture and late-stage capitalism. Listeners get thoughtful critiques of current trends, media narratives, and social dynamics, often anchored in personal anecdotes and sharp guests. The tone is witty, no-nonsense, and unapologetically analytical, appealing to curious minds who enjoy essays on culture with a pinch of sass and pop references. Noteworthy is the balance between rigorous analysis and accessible storytelling, plus frequent host duos who bring opposing but complementary viewpoints.
