  • Love their approach

Love Bill and Giuliana, their energy and chemistry is beautiful. I love their approach to having conversations and topics vs a traditional podcast asking a guest about their life.. we have enough of that. They run their podcast so organically and it’s fun to listen to!!

  • Bill is horrible

I have always thought Giuliana is really funny and easy to listen to/watch. Bill has always seemed like a chauvinist with this undercurrent of rage. This podcast is insufferable especially because of him. You can tell he likely is such a mean husband and it’s awkward to listen to. He’s probably say he is being “real” but he is such a prick to her and you know he is 10x worse in private. And also he is a terrible interviewer. She has been doing this as her job for decades yet he is mansplaining h... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Screen Time Debate: What Parents Need to Know
Q: How should parents respond when their child claims all friends have devices?
Explain family standards consistently, share personal stories of early stricter rules, and emphasize that peer behavior does not determine what's healthiest or appropriate for their family; reinforce the long-term view over short-term social pressure.
The Screen Time Debate: What Parents Need to Know
Q: Is there a magic number for daily screen time?
There isn't a simple magic number; instead, establish clear rules that integrate outdoor time and real-life activities, and avoid negotiating time in the moment; focus on overall balance and the quality of activities.
The Screen Time Debate: What Parents Need to Know
Q: What is the age at which it's reasonable to give a smartphone to a child?
The consensus suggested is to delay as long as possible, with many recommending not giving a smartphone until the junior or senior year of high school; if a phone is needed earlier, consider a non-internet-capable option.
Why is parenting so hard?
Q: What can parents do to help their kids strengthen these skills without burning themselves out?
Focus on parent coaching and behavior training, reduce excessive talking to minimize emotional dysregulation, create environments that encourage independence (like structured activities and predictable routines), and use targeted strategies from resources like the GrowNOW framework and the accompanying playbook.
Why is parenting so hard?
Q: What are the executive functions, and how do they influence a child's behavior at home and school?
Executive functions include self-awareness, self-regulation, time management, organization, and goal-directed behavior. When these skills are underdeveloped, kids rely on caregivers, and parents end up being the executive functioning system for the whole family, which can exhaust and overwhelm them.
