Overcoming Limits, Embracing Adventure
Q: What message do you want people to walk away with after watching Jeffrey's Journey?
I want people to understand that the journey is about embracing challenges and finding joy in movement, regardless of one's limitations.
Overcoming Limits, Embracing Adventure
Q: So you've been a cyclist for most of your life. You grew up in the Midwest, so you probably used to bike to school and bike to your friend's house. You've always been on a bike of some sort, right?
Absolutely, I've always been on a bike, starting from childhood, which led me to purchase an actual road bike for exercise after my diagnosis.
Overcoming Limits, Embracing Adventure
Q: Have you noticed any progression in this?
Yes, the progression is very slow, almost imperceptible at times, but there has been a gradual deterioration in mobility.
Overcoming Limits, Embracing Adventure
Q: Can we start with the basics? Tell me about CMT1A, and maybe when were you diagnosed?
CMT1A is a degenerative illness affecting movement signals from the brain, causing gradual loss of muscle tone and dexterity, diagnosed in childhood.
Global Hobo: Life on Wheels
Q: Any advice for people curious about their own exploration?
Helen advises to consider budget travel through camping and eating at supermarkets, which can allow travel on a small budget, especially when visiting free attractions.
