  • Refreshing and Informative

Highly recommend. Aaron Pete treats every topic with respect and curiosity, going out of his way to avoid straw-manning any viewpoints. He isn’t afraid to wade into uncomfortable territory but never for the sake of controversy alone. I usually leave an episode with the feeling that I’ve learned something from his analysis. In this highly polarized political and cultural landscape, this is absolutely a show worth adding to your library.

  • A podcast everyone needs to listen to

It’s so rare in this polarized society to listen to honest and respectful discourse in a podcast. I really appreciate how Aaron approaches these interviews. He invites the guest to present their thoughts on the subject then respectfully debates them if he has an alternative opinion. This allows the listener to hear a balanced approach to the subject so they can form their own opinion about it.

It was heartening to hear an honest discussion about the unmarked graves story finally in Canada. The left and Canadian media’s credibility took a huge blow because of the lies told in 2021 and it will take conversations like this in mainstream media to repair the damage. Hope CBC et al are taking notes.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

234. Samantha Beynon: What Indigenous Stories Can Teach Canadians
Q: Is it just your style to be a bridge builder in your writing and approach to Indigenous storytelling?
Yes, Beynon describes her natural inclination to bridge cultures as part of who she is, blending contemporary Indigenous life with traditional learnings, and prioritizing empathy, mutual understanding, and collaboration over punitive or divisive narratives.
230. Aiemann Zahabi: USA vs. Canada on the UFC White House Card
Q: How do you view representing Canada on a global stage?
Canada should showcase its values—education, family, opportunity—and I want to lift up Canadian talent and do so with humility and pride, similar to how Canadian icons have carried themselves on the world stage.
230. Aiemann Zahabi: USA vs. Canada on the UFC White House Card
Q: How do you manage media obligations and distractions as a fighter on a high-profile card?
I focus on the big pieces first, prioritize discipline, and stay grounded in faith and family. It's about protecting my time, reducing distractions, and ensuring my actions reflect the values I campaign for, so I can perform spectacularly when it matters.
230. Aiemann Zahabi: USA vs. Canada on the UFC White House Card
Q: What would a win on this card mean to you?
A win would be huge and a dream come true, especially since this card is tied to a title eliminator and a potential belt shot. It would validate the hard work, the belief that I'm on the right path, and set up the next steps toward a title in 2026.
229. Trevor Halford: Can B.C. Survive a $13.3B Deficit?
Q: What would you do differently on fiscal policy and small business support?
Prioritize getting out of the way of small business, cut red tape, avoid new taxes on essential security, and focus on expanding the private sector to grow the economy rather than taxing it further.
