  • NDP Echo Chamber

This podcast feels more like an NDP echo chamber than a balanced political discussion. With three hosts all leaning left, there’s no conservative perspective at the table. Even though they sometimes have conservative guests on the show, the hosts save their criticism for after the guest has left when there is no conservative voice to challenge them. The show would be much stronger and more relevant if it included a right-leaning voice to provide real debate and balance.

  • Learn your geography

If you’re going to take a shot at an MP at least get their riding name right.

It’s SAINT JOHN, NB that is the most tariff vulnerable city in Canada (which makes sense because it is in close geographic proximity to the US).

Unlike ST. JOHN’S, NL which is like a 1000kms away from the US border…

  • Amalgamation

Hello guys thank you for putting out this podcast every week. I’ve been a fan of the other air quotes pods so of course i had to get onboard with a pod about my home province. Kates rant about permitting has inspired me to write this review. I really enjoy your insight & interviews. The issue im concerned with that doesn’t get much attention is how we have 21 municipalities in the lower mainland and 13 for greater Victoria! Maybe they made sense once upon a time but metro van has grown we are 1 ... more

  • Permitting

One of the best overall podcasts anywhere!! These hosts know BC and have exceptional guests that have great insights. However the discussion on natural resource permitting, while very interesting is mis-informed. Permitting delays/timelines are almost completely about government policy, not about the public service just going slow (although there is some truth to that). DRIPA requires consent. It is a veto, although lawyers may say that by legal definition is not. There are fixes to permitting ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

"KLF WTFFF!" with James Moore
Q: What should Kerry-Lynne Findlay do next to be competitive in BC politics?
Moore recommends professionalizing the caucus and party organization, building broader regional appeal (city and island), and potentially reshaping leadership and policy focus to better address economic and social concerns while maintaining party integrity.
"KLF WTFFF!" with James Moore
Q: How would you describe Kerry-Lynne Findlay's campaign and coalition?
Moore describes Findlay as blunt and authentic, with a traditional blue-collar coalition in the interior and a need to broaden appeal to urban centers, suggesting the campaign highlighted core issues but faced challenges in expanding its base.
"KLF WTFFF!" with James Moore
Q: What happened there on Saturday night and what does it mean for the party going forward?
James Moore explains that the outcome was less expected than some assumed, with vote dynamics and coalition concerns shaping the result, and emphasizes the need for a broader, more inclusive provincial strategy to attract urban and diverse voters while maintaining core Conservative values.
"BC in a World in Flux" with Bob Rae
Q: What are the key challenges around Indigenous consent for major projects, and how should government handle them?
He argues for a coordinated, one-voice approach among governments and industry, clear standards on consent, and accountability mechanisms that reflect the interests of the diverse Indigenous communities involved, avoiding a patchwork of separate deals.
"BC in a World in Flux" with Bob Rae
Q: From your perspective, how would you characterize British Columbia's unique position within Canada given global economic shifts?
Rae views BC as a distinct, globally engaged economy with strong trade links, requiring Ottawa and provincial leaders to collaborate closely rather than treat BC as peripheral, given its strategic importance in energy, resources, and Asia-Pacific relations.
