  • The one and only podcast I listen to

I started listening to Big Fat Positive when I was pregnant with my first son, who is now almost 4. This podcast is not only informative but entertaining and so relatable. Shanna and Laura have kept me company on long car rides and late nights when sleep is not happening. I have finally caught up after all of these years and look forward to every Monday! Thanks for making me and many other mama’s not feel so alone in this parenthood journey!

  • My “girls”

I found this podcast while I was pregnant at the beginning of 2024. I felt like I had 2 friends going through the same-ish things! When my some was born we were raising babies together. I paused for a while as you ladies got too far ahead of me but now I’m back and loving all the things again. Thank you for sharing the real life things. The sense of community you bring is so refreshing and welcoming.

  • The Very Best Parenting Podcast

I started listening to Big Fat Positive when I was “pregnancy curious” and nervous to start TTC, and here I am still listening weekly with a 3.5-year-old and a 6-month-old. Laura and Shanna truly feel like mom friends who just get it. I’ve learned so many helpful hacks and parenting strategies, but truly the best part for me is the constant reminder that whatever chaos, worries, or “is this normal??” moments I’m having—I’m not alone. The thoughtfulness and humor that they approach parenthood wit... more

I am currently child-free and have been listening to this podcast for over three years. I’ve even listened to some episodes twice! I love getting to hear funny stories and parenting conundrums. I’ve definitely learned some great tips to implement with my kids one day. My husband and I are now TTC and one of the things I’m most excited for is to get to listen to the old podcasts week-by-week, when I do get pregnant! Laura and Shanna are definitely the most relatable and down to earth podcast host... more

  • My go-to comfort listening

I found the podcast when I got pregnant last year and listened along with my pregnancy. I picked it back up when my baby was a few months old and I wish I had done so sooner because it’s been like having non-judgemental, funny, relatable best friends to share the experience with. I’ve found motherhood hard AF, particularly as a single parent, and whenever I am having a tough day or night I pop it in my ears and feel less alone. Thank you and please never stop!

Q: What family traditions are you keeping from your childhood?
I love decorating and watching National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation every year. We also want to start snowball traditions.
Ep. 390: Holiday Q&A: Traditions, Santa, Gifts and More!
Q: Do you do Elf on the Shelf?
No Elf on the Shelf here because I can't add more stress to my life. My kids are already skeptical about Santa.
Ep. 390: Holiday Q&A: Traditions, Santa, Gifts and More!
Q: Does Santa wrap gifts or leave them unwrapped?
Santa wraps gifts in different paper from the family's, and the kids really love unwrapping gifts on Christmas.
Ep. 390: Holiday Q&A: Traditions, Santa, Gifts and More!
Q: What would you get your kids and husbands for Christmas if money was no object?
I would probably get Cory a new tennis ball shooting bag and for my kids, maybe a backyard pool, but that's super pricey.
Ep. 378: Your Potty-Training Questions Answered!
Q: What should you do if your child is stuck in the car during long commutes?
Don't treat potty training as a binary; if needed, allowing your child to wear a pull-up for long car rides is completely acceptable and won't set them back.
