10/10 - what the host doesn’t know about this subject probably isn’t worth knowing. I have always had an interest in WW2 but didn’t really know what happened east of Poland. This has filled this void.
I like this podcast, I’m about 15 episodes in. Interesting range of topics and covers a ( to me) lesser known theatre in WW2
I’ve attempted a few episodes and the host continuously inserts his modern liberal opinions, which are completely unwelcome. His biases against the Germans then & the Russians now are childish.
As to the content, the episode of The Battle of Prokohrovka (August 5, 2024) is quite poor. His information is laughably incorrect and relies heavily on Soviet quotes - which were deliberate lies.
The Germans didn’t have any Panthers or Ferdinands at this engagement and only a handful of Tiger I tanks. more
Each episode opens with acknowledgement that the show is recorded in Ottawa, on land stolen from the Algonquin people. It goes downhill from there. If you seek a woke-cast comparing Donald Trump to Adolf Hitler, here it is. As an added bonus, you’ll be serenaded with little ditties on the xylophone. Enjoy.
Great podcast. Not as polished as I’m used to but no big deal. Sometimes the music is annoying and goes on way too long but apparently it’s a relative composing it so I understand. It’s August, 2025 and I’m starting at the beginning. They are definitely of a nice, easily digestible length. Bravo, Mr. Bury!

The show stands out for its passionate, detailed narration, use of primary and secondary sources, and a willingness to tackle under-covered theaters alongside celebrated battles. It's likely to appeal to history enthusiasts, students, and professionals seeking thorough, narrative-driven analysis of the war on the Russian front.
