  • Behind the Shades, Reaching into the Shadows!

Thank you Terraine, for inviting me to share the story of my life, especially my Grief Journey since losing my beloved wife Tina. It is RARE, in this world, to hop on a podcast with someone and INSTANTLY CONNECT the way that we did. That is a gift, my friend...and you use it exquisitely. So many people put up shades and filters so that the world only sees a carefully pruned version of their lives. We let it all hang out. WHY? Because we both know that the people who need our message most are NOT... more

  • Great conversation and show

I had a really solid experience on Behind The Shades. The host made it easy to open up and actually talk about real things.

-fatherhood, partnership, the ups and downs of raising a family, and trying to stay grounded through it all.

As a dad of four, I appreciated how natural the whole conversation felt. Just great dialogue that I think a lot of men and parents will relate to.

If you like real conversations that make you think a little and feel a little, this podcast is worth checking out.

Heartbreak Changed Who I Am In This Way
Q: How were you able to overcome that situation and the emotions associated with it?
It took years and a decision to prioritize healing, seek therapy, and educate myself about trauma and healthy boundaries, which helped me move toward a safer, more intentional life.
I Faced What I Feared Most By Doing This
Q: So first question for my audience, how did you get involved in this type of work and why?
She explains a winding path from law to coaching, discovering psychedelics as a tool, and formalizing facilitation with a coaching certification, which led to a focus on trauma, anxiety, and personal transformation.
I Survived What Broke Me By Doing This
Q: What role do boundaries play in healing from trauma?
Boundaries protect self-worth, prevent energy drain from others, and enable healthier relationships by keeping you anchored in who you are while allowing space for growth and healing.
I Survived What Broke Me By Doing This
Q: Why do you think some people find it difficult to embrace the new them after trauma?
Because they grew up in environments where love was scarce, new patterns feel unfamiliar and risky, so they hesitate to step into what is different, even when it is healthier.
Strong Relationships Are Built By Doing This
Q: What are three things you wish people knew about awareness and then the action?
Three key ideas: first, there is always a grace period between awareness and action, so give yourself time to process before acting. Second, choosing to avoid awareness can itself be an action, not a lack of awareness. Third, pausing before acting makes it easier to implement healthier changes and prevents knee-jerk responses.
