This podcast is basically a long commercial for whatever company the guest works for. Despite the name, actual payer issues are never discussed. If you’re looking for real industry insights, you won’t find them here.

  • Meh currently

This podcast has the potential to be useful. However, the interviews are nothing more than advertisements for whatever company the person represents. There are no challenging questions or attempt to discuss the underlying topics in any factual, unbiased way. Sadly an utter waste of time.

  • Meh currently

This podcast has the potential to be useful. However, the folks reading the copy each session need to (please!) practice reading it out loud at least a few times before recording and posting it. It’s painful to listen to them trying to stumble thought it.

Also, their random use of numbering the headlines (first, second, third, etc) is very distracting, especially since the headlines themselves often contain numbers, and the presentation order if of no consequence. Simply pausing between headlin... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Rob Andrews, Chief Executive Officer of the Health Transformation Alliance
Q: Considering all of those angles that you're approaching these issues from, what's the single biggest misconception for payer executives right now?
The misconception is that the Medicare Advantage fight is only about the annual rate bump; in reality, the future lies in achieving high-value outcomes for patients and determining how quickly and effectively providers can deliver those outcomes.
The Evolving Role of Provider Data in Healthcare
Q: How does the quality of your foundational data determine what AI can and can't do for your organization today?
High-quality, deduplicated, unified provider data enables AI to function effectively, while poor data leads to misinformed decisions and broader issues across systems.
The Evolving Role of Provider Data in Healthcare
Q: So first, provider directories aren't just a compliance checkbox anymore. They're increasingly visible to members and regulators alike. How has that shift changed the way that your organization thinks about provider data, and where has it created the most urgency internally?
The directory is the member's first exposure when shopping for care, so accuracy and trust are critical; widespread directory churn and the need to unify disparate data sources drive urgency for better governance and transparency.
Jeff Bak, President and Chief Executive Officer of Imagine360
Q: What are your thoughts on value-based contracts in self-funded plans?
Bak argues that value-based contracts have not delivered much in self-funded environments due to high turnover and the difficulty of driving meaningful cost reductions on top of already expensive care.
Jeff Bak, President and Chief Executive Officer of Imagine360
Q: How is the aging population affecting plan design and member engagement?
He notes that many seniors are aging into Medicare and are often digitally adept, using apps to access information. Plans should leverage intuitive tools and feedback from these users to improve navigation and accessibility.
