  • Sometimes biased, Room for improvement

Please, Scott, get a microphone or headset. It’s clear he’s just calling in in on his phone. Also tends to lean into political bias whenever he says he wasn’t a never Trumper. Stick to facts. Also way too many episodes, many feel like paid ads, but some are good.

Strengthening Nursing Leadership Through System Thinking and Prioritization with Joy White
Q: What is a recent decision or pivot you had to make that required conviction and challenged your assumptions in decision-making?
She describes elevating nursing leaders to think and operate more strategically, expanding focus beyond nursing to include all stakeholders, and adopting a system-thinking approach to leadership and decision-making.
Daniel M. Sciubba, MD, MBA, Lucille & Milton Cohn Professor and Chair of Neurosurgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and Senior Vice President of the Neurosurgery Service Line at Northwell Health
Q: How do you balance top-down data investments with the humanistic, patient-centered approach in practice?
He explains a dual framework: top-down investment in data and AI guided by principles, and bottom-up attention to the individual patient, ensuring technology serves personalized care rather than reducing patients to numbers.
Daniel M. Sciubba, MD, MBA, Lucille & Milton Cohn Professor and Chair of Neurosurgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and Senior Vice President of the Neurosurgery Service Line at Northwell Health
Q: Can you tell us a little bit about what that evolution has been like and what you're excited about when you think about data in spine and healthcare?
The guest describes a data-driven approach where understanding costs, wait times, complications, and recovery informs patient discussions and empowers patients to make thoughtful decisions, while clinicians use data to guide but not dictate care.
Gary Janchenko, D.Sc., Chief Information Officer at Central Ohio Primary Care
Q: What do you see as the future of EHRs and AI in your organization?
The future involves deeper interoperability, gathering data across disparate systems to create a near-perfect view of a patient's health information, and using AI to empower clinicians and staff, so technology supports connection rather than distraction.
Gary Janchenko, D.Sc., Chief Information Officer at Central Ohio Primary Care
Q: How do you approach evaluating AI vendors for your Epic environment?
We perform due diligence by comparing vendor capabilities to our Epic roadmap, insisting on real demos with providers and aligning any solution to reduce friction and clicks while enhancing documentation and care delivery, rather than chasing marketing metrics.
