As a Filipino-American, I found it somewhat difficult to learn Tagalog growing up. Even though my parents spoke it at home when I was growing up, my understanding and fluency was minimal and limited to common phrases. As a young adult, there wasn’t many opportunities/ways to learn it in a way that worked best for my learning style as well.
