Kyle’s passion for running is unquestionable. Every weekend he is out there earning his prized medals. He is scouring the country for the best races and sharing everything you need to know before signing up for your next, or first race. His show is a great listen and instructive to runners of all ability levels.
I love listening to his honest takes on the races. As someone who runs in the area I love to hear all about the races. It helps me be prepared for them when I run them. It’s also fun to know that someone shares your pain about a particular course. Always a great time listening. I highly recommend!
I don’t hear whining… I hear honesty.
Running isn’t all PRs and perfect runs, and not every podcast needs to pretend it is. BOTP leans into the parts of running people usually keep to themselves, and that’s the whole point.

A candid, community-driven show that centers on running local races, gear, race-day logistics, and the realities of training for everyday runners. Episodes mix race reviews, practical tips (hydration, pacing, gear, safety), and personal stories from memorable events, often with a humorous, down-to-earth tone. Listeners get actionable insights for both local Kansas City races and bigger nationwide events, along with relatable anecdotes about the challenges and joys of training as a non-elite runner. A notable strength is the host's willingness to critique race experiences honestly while celebrating the camaraderie and culture of the running community, making it especially useful for back-of-the-pack runners and local race enthusiasts who wan... more
