A subversive podcast taking refuge in The Sanctuary of Allegory about the fragility of memory. With Audio Chimera I share memories from my past, while at the same commenting on various aspects of modern life. The links are not always obvious, since I create each podcast through stream of consciousness writing techniques—and sometimes even I am surprised by the connections!

Some spectator behavior has been so bad that it has stuck with me for years and decades. Some of the stories became cautionary tales that I told my Intro to Theatre students to suggest poor theatre etiquette in hoping they'd be better. Here are tho... more

This show never fails to deliver a worthwhile listening experience that keeps me thinking or laughing or both well afterwards.
A super interesting show. Each episode can bear many meanings and lessons, depending on how actively you are listening. I'm not usually one for tuning into podcasts where the host's own experiences are the focal point but Stephen does it in such an elegant way with lots to learn and ponder...plus he's had a pretty interesting life in my opinion.
Great show especially for those who like stories with a meaning or message to take, even if it's not obvious to start with. I hope more episodes come out!
A great podcast - Stephen is an excellent storyteller with some incredibly insightful takes on aspects of modern life linked to interesting anecdotes from his own experiences. This podcast could be described as more artful than most. Love the intro music too.
With so many podcasts out there, it can be difficult to filter through them all. Audio Chimera stands out because Dr. Schrum provides some great reflections on art, teaching, media and society. Each episode has a well conceived theme, is well written and is presented with humor. You can tell that this is a labor of love, and that Schrum loves what he's doing.
I love it. More please.
