  • LOVE!! 🩵🩵🩵

I love Gracie’s videos, she is always so smiley and brings laughter. I was very excited to hear she’s starting a podcast! Even if I am not interested in the sport I enjoy listening because she is an amazing interviewer that digs deep into their story.

Gracie! I really appreciate what you and Kamila talked about. I totally agree that even complimenting someone’s body can be harmful and as a society we should put less value on someone’s appearance. Please bring Corinne on the podcast!! 🩵🩵

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Gracie & Kamila Tan on Beach Volleyball, Body Image, & Healing
Q: How did you manage balancing academics and athletics at UCLA?
Kamila explains growing up in a family that valued academics, then learning to balance a demanding sport by staying disciplined, prioritizing studies, and embracing a strong work ethic that kept her on track.
Gracie & Her Mom on Raising an Athlete, Sacrifice, & Motherhood
Q: What's something you wish more parents understood about what really matters in sports?
Sports give parents a unique opportunity to relate to their children outside the usual family dynamics, showing up consistently and being present for each moment, not just results; the emphasis should be on energy, support, and shared experiences rather than trophies.
Gracie & Her Mom on Raising an Athlete, Sacrifice, & Motherhood
Q: What's something you wish you knew back when I was first starting out?
I wish I had known how feisty and driven you would be, and that I could trust myself to respond to that energy; I would have worried less and trusted the process more, focusing on supporting your passion rather than trying to control every outcome.
Gracie & Her Mom on Raising an Athlete, Sacrifice, & Motherhood
Q: What's one piece of advice you would give to a parent whose kid is getting into gymnastics?
Trust and be present, but allow a healthy amount of independence within safe boundaries; do thorough homework on gyms to ensure safety and welfare, so you can give your child space while staying involved, meeting their energy with support rather than pressure.
Gracie & Michael Andrew on Olympic Swimming, Redefining Success, & the Road to 2028
Q: How do you not get neurotic going into a new Olympics and still allow for balance with friends and life outside the pool?
Staying grounded by not tying self-worth to swimming, maintaining freedom to enjoy life, and relying on a clear, ongoing routine that protects recovery and balance.
