  • Never miss it!

One of my favourite podcasts - these women have terrific chemistry and I love the interplay between secular and religious Jews.

  • A lifeline

Podcasts live and die based on chemistry and these two have it in spades. The last few years have been painful and isolating, this show goes a little of the way to making up for lost community. I don’t always agree politically with the hosts but their worldview is inclusive and broadminded. I’m grateful to have them in my ears.

  • Solace in a Hard World

They consistently find new ways to un-gaslight me. I didn’t feel too Jewish before October 7. Then I like all Jews was thrown into his ancient struggle. Which has only been made bearable by shows like this! come for the solidarity, stay for the holocaust jokes.

  • Ask a Jew Review

These women run the gamut, funny, wonky, touching, heartbreaking. It’s been that kind of a year (and a half). Some pods, it’s like I’m back with my high school girlfriends. Since I’m on the secular side, I have to say how surprising I’ve found Chaya Leah’s take on many things. I especially loved the Mother’s Day episode.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Live From the Kosher Table - With Periel Aschenbrand
Q: When is it appropriate to joke about sensitive topics like the October 7th attacks?
It's important to gauge the atmosphere and timing, as many comedians feel that laughter can be a salve for trauma, but the right moment may vary by individual.
Live From the Kosher Table - With Periel Aschenbrand
Q: What was the comedy scene like after October 7th?
It was greatly affected, with many people going silent or posting about Gaza shortly after, leaving a lot of friends astonished by the lack of support from those they've known for years.
Podhoretz Save America
Q: Could you tell us a little bit about them and what your childhood was like?
John Podhoretz reflects on his upbringing in a notable Jewish family, detailing how his father's shift from liberalism to conservatism impacted their social circles and flexibility in expressing their views.
We Don't Get Us - With Sarah Hurwitz
Q: How do you make the case for young people that they can't remove themselves from Zionism, from Israel?
It's hard to instill a feeling of peoplehood among young Jews if they've not been raised that way; so I try to educate them about anti-Semitism and its implications.
We Don't Get Us - With Sarah Hurwitz
Q: Did you write, did you write when they go low, we go high?
When they go low, we go high was Michelle Obama's line, and all I did was type it into the speech; I wish I could claim credit for it.
