But after the critical and financial failure of its first installment, the project was indefinitely abandoned. In 2022, the powers that be have ca... more

So worth it
Can't recommend enough! If you love storytelling, horror movies, writing, workshopping, this is a must listen. Phenomenal hosts, outstanding stories, very fun guests. My all-time favorite podcast.
I will admit, not every episode was for me but this has been one of my favorite things to listen to. I’m happy that unlike the MCU you gave this a beginning, a middle, and an end. I look forward to seeing where things go with the Pod Universe and hopefully by end of 2026 I’m caught up.
I laugh, cried but most importantly enjoyed a modern, throughout refresh of some of the greatest monsters ever created.

A standout throughline is the duo's playful approach to retooling classic monster IPs and their ongoing Dark Universe project, often treating each episode as a writer's room with guests, audience input, and ambitious multi-part arcs. This show tends toward frank, self-aware commentary on filmmaking, franchise strategy, and th... more
