  • Love this 🌊

This is such a great podcast, I love it! The episode with Osteopath Mark Andrews was recommended to me as I have a shoulder injury that I am battling, and this was fascinating! I absolutely loved hearing what Mark had to say about working through injury and this has helped my mindset so much. Will is such a great host and I have started right back at season 1, episode 1 and can’t wait to devour the whole series. If you love being in the sea, in a wetsuit on a surf board or in skins, this is for ... more

  • Excellent and interesting series of conversations

This is a fantastic podcast for anybody with an interest in swimming. Ostensibly for open water swimmers those who pool swim will get something from it too.

The host gently takes his guests through their swimming lives and gives them time to talk and articulate their swimming journey (sometimes life journey).

The guests are as varied as the swims they have completed and each one brings something new to the podcast.

Having binged the episodes over a few days I cannot recommend this podc... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

1. (33.3) Mark Turner
Q: So talk us through that very first 33.3, the idea to the very first one.
Mark explains how the idea emerged from his multi-day endurance experiences and his desire to create a premium, community-focused event that still captures the spirit and challenge of the traditional English Channel distance.
5. B3 Paul Newsome
Q: But Paul, how are you? What's changed since you last joined us?
Paul talks about the evolution of Swim Smooth, the growth of the Guru app, and how heat acclimation and long-distance training have become central to his coaching while maintaining a strong focus on family and community.
5. B2 Brian Foster
Q: What would be your dream next big swim if logistics and conditions align?
One of my dream swims is IRC, Wales to Ireland, around 90 kilometers, which would be incredibly demanding but within the realm of possibility with proper planning and support.
5. B2 Brian Foster
Q: Are you aiming for any big future challenges like the Ocean 7, or something else that excites you?
I'm open to new ideas and would consider iconic challenges, but I won't chase the Ocean 7 as a guaranteed goal; any big swim would require total commitment and alignment with my training.
5. B2 Brian Foster
Q: What changed in your training or mindset over the last couple of years?
I've adopted a more flexible training approach, explored different methods from other athletes, and emphasized listening to my body while maintaining consistent community support.
