For many years now, Afterthoughts has been a sort of intellectual watering hole for classical, Charlotte Mason homeschooling mamas. At Afterthoughts, we have spent over a decade nourishing our minds on theology, educational philosophy, and a million other books and subjects thrown in – all the while bringing these ideas into a direct collision course with our daily lives. As an audio companion, th... more

The music is alarming and completely threw me off. I was not expecting it- not to be dramatic but I enjoy listening to a podcast to unwind and calm my stress from our busy days. This was probably the worst choice I have made- ever. I listened to 3 short episodes and I wont listen to any more because of the intense and ridiculous music. I never leave podcast reviews, but here I am.
I am preparing to start my first year of homeschooling with my oldest son. As I started my preparations I heard about Charlotte Mason and now I only wish I could have discovered her years ago. The aftercast podcast has been enriching my thoughts while I’m getting my housework done. Thank you Brandy!
I really enjoy this podcast I love listening to Brandi on schole sisters as well and feel like I’ve learned so much from her about expanding my own learning horizons. The music however is really jarring and takes up a lot of the time consider how short the episodes are: I’m NOT a classical music only person (I’m a little edgy- I have a nose ring!) I just want others to support this program and I’d hate for something as silly as abrasive music to deter listeners!
I love the little golden nuggets I get with each show - no twaddle! She’s well versed in CM philosophy and inspires me so much to KEEP GROWING as a person myself, which brings spark to each long, homeschooling day.
I have really enjoyed listening to her thoughts! This podcast is well thought out and very enjoyable. I prefer to listen to podcasts while doing house work, but I have to babysit this one because of the awful music. I like to create a certain atmosphere in the house and if this intro music turns on it totally disrupts that. I run across the room to skip the super loud rock music and then it gets played again at the end... ugh. It wouldn’t HAVE to be classical... just quieter, calmer, less jarri... more
