Alright, so I am 13 and I am listening to this and I am thinking: THIS IS AWESOME!!!!

So I recently got my pointe shoes so yay but I was wondering: could you include an episode about pointe shoes and sewing them and why about breaking them in and how to know that they are dead

    That would be helpful

  • Perfect for ballet nerds!

I am not a “adult ballet dancer” per se, I’ve been training my whole life and still dance professionally and teach. And I LOVE this podcast. It’s a wonderful listen for anyone who loves the art of ballet. Hannah is an excellent host, and I love how she covers all the aspects of the art form. Highly recommend

  • Reviews of Adult Intensives

Love the episode on KM&Friends adult summer intensive. So helpful especially for those who are hesitant to invest their time, $$$,and egos (lol). Would you continue this theme and maybe do others? Would be so interested in hearing from someone who did a Ballet With Isabella intensive. Thanks so much for your channel!

Ep. 111 - Unlock Your Best Ballet LINES (At Any Level!) with Chelsea Weidmann
Q: What practical drills help train curved line placement and transitions?
Drills include back-to-front coordination with timing of fingers and toes, laying on the back to learn shoulder blade contact, and practicing pelvic neutrality with core engagement to support line through transitions.
Ep. 111 - Unlock Your Best Ballet LINES (At Any Level!) with Chelsea Weidmann
Q: How can adult dancers apply these ideas at their current level?
Beginners should focus on straight and static lines, intermediates can work on curved lines and transitions, and advanced dancers can emphasize the illusion of line, all while recognizing that progress isn't linear and tailoring practice to personal strengths.
Ep. 109 - No Studio, No Blueprint, No Problem: Bringing Ballet to Pakistan with Lauren Woodbury
Q: How did you decide to start a ballet school in Islamabad when there were no local options?
A mix of practical need, community inquiries, and a window of opportunity when a private school space opened up allowed her to pilot classes and gradually expand through partnerships and word-of-mouth.
Ep. 108 - Ballet Makeup for Class AND Stage: Everything Adult Dancers Need to Know, with Suzanne Jolie
Q: What are the essential elements of stage makeup for beginners?
The essentials include an opaque matte foundation, dark defined brows, a neutral brown eye palette with no shimmer, a bold blue-toned red lip, and false lashes; eyeliner with a brush tip and a white grease pencil can help open the eyes and enhance line work.
Ep. 105 - Why Does Ballet Feel Harder Some Weeks? Supporting Your Cycle as a Female Dancer with Jess Spinner
Q: What role does protein play across the cycle, particularly during higher energy demands?
Protein helps maintain muscle and focus; balance is key, and during higher energy phases you should keep adequate protein intake to support recovery and performance even if cravings pull you toward more carbs.
