Similar to "Strange studies of strange stories", but with a focus first on ghost story writer (among other things) M.R. James, and later opening up for other ghost story authors as well. Funny, informative, in depth, and occassionally with great guests. I just wish they released new episodes more often.

This has really gone down a tedious woke rabbit hole, which is a shame as the earlier episodes on James were good. Now it’s a lot of obvious statements about C19th writers not having the views of a left leaning middle class type from 2022, quelle surprise! They lack the self awareness to realise that a season on women ghost story writers is patronising. If only their awokening had occurred earlier they could have mixed them in with the men and in the proper context.
