I was delighted to find this podcast fairly recently. I'm a big fan of MR James, and Tony's excellent curating of stories has lead me back to authors from the 19th and early 20th centuries who I had long forgotten or never knew. It seems to me that fiction in the Anglophone world has veered, particularly in the US, towards physically dangerous supernatural monsters (perhaps a Central European influence?). These don't interest me. Give me a gnawing sense of dread any day! Tony is a very good read... more
Do yourself a favor and just listen…these eerie tales will stick with you; I have listened to many of them multiple times. Perfect narration!
Really enjoyed the original story The Frost Fair! I love this podcast for introducing me to horror stories I haven’t heard before, and the narration is wonderful.
Mr Walker sources the stories and they are 5 Star stories. He plans and creates the production by himself and they are 5 Star productions. Finally he narrates and performs the production as a Podcast. So this podcast is 5 stars.
Very good stories and show
