  • Music & restless ranter have to go

Great podcast. Very informative and relatable. Covers topics and great advice for club curlers and talks beyond the professional level to club level tips and tricks.

Growing The Game In An Olympic Season
Q: Why is the Olympic season considered the best chance to grow curling and attract new curlers?
Because the Olympics creates broad visibility and curiosity about curling as a sport, especially for people who have never engaged with curling before, making it the ideal moment to invite them to try the sport at local clubs.
Bill Digs Into The Podcast Mail Bag
Q: Question, what are the criteria for a sport to be an Olympic medal sport?
A sport must be globally practiced, have a recognized international federation, adhere to anti-dumping codes, align with Olympic values, and pass IOC evaluations on media interest, history, and integrity before final inclusion.
This One Really Hurt
Q: What goes on behind the scenes that athletes and fans don't always see when a season ends with a loss?
She describes the non-glamorous work—practice, off-ice training, team meetings, psychology, and personal life pressures—that shapes performance and why the final loss can feel devastating despite a strong season.
This One Really Hurt
Q: Give us the background of your team and what it entailed to get you to the Provincials for starters. And then of course, the gold medal game.
Danielle explains the long road to the provincials, the depth of competition, and the grind of balancing multiple responsibilities, highlighting how much unseen effort goes into reaching the final.
We're Talking Baseball & Curling
Q: What makes mixed doubles curling particularly interesting in the Olympic context?
It opens pathways for smaller curling nations to compete at a high level and potentially medal, adding unpredictability and excitement to the sport.
