A Long Road Home is a series of real-world stories about the people who work in the on-demand economy. If you’re anything like me, you probably use your phone on a daily basis to get help from people you’ve never met before through services like lyft, uber, instacart, and rinse. These types of businesses make it easy to get help while simultaneously increasing our interactions with strangers every... more

Ben does a great job in his "A Long Road Home" podcast, telling in depth, remarkable stories of the people who literally drive the gig economy. Ben, the host, has a great radio voice, and an interview and editing style that is both curious and sympathetic, which helps the listener really get to know the person telling their story. The first episodes were kind of long and complicated, so his occasional summaries were useful. I notice his editing is becoming tighter in new episodes. I think the Lo... more
Really shows what life in a usually secretive North Korea is like and how privileged and free people in other more developed countries are. It really opened my mind to the diversity of other world populations.
We hear about the atrocities and crazy practices that happen in North Korea, but nothing hits home like hearing it from someone who grow up there and experienced it first hand, wow. Charles tells such an unbelievable story that at times, it really feels like just that -- unbelievable! Listening to this podcast really helped put my life and "worries" into perspective -- we all have it SO good compared to so many others. Recommend 10/10!
I've always appreciate the history of the drivers who take us everywhere. My great uncle drone a cab in NYC and has thousands of stories waiting for the right question. Looking forward to the rest of this series!
I am only one episode and I'm totally hooked. Great story, with a skilled interviewer. So glad I found this!
(P.S. I could do without the "recap" before the sponsorships)
