Every day we wake up not knowing exactly what will happen: A sportswriter finds himself drowning in a frozen canal, a hiker gets hit by lightning, and a service tech rolls his van off the road and into a cemetery. What they all have in common is that they were all saved by a stranger. Tell Me What Happened, the award-winning original podcast by OnStar, returns for a sixth season of stories about p... more

This podcast is really nice! It’s relaxing, but exciting too. I like how these are all real stories, because while they can make people (especially kids) a little scared, it teaches them to be more cautious. It’s really cool how they’re all about people helping out, and the way it’s presented is really good. It gives people hope for the future generations and lets them know that while there are bad people in the world making bad choices (ones that could affect lots of other people too) there are... more

Great podcast! I love the way the stories are retold using the real people involved. The added sound effects and narration are really clever and make it so easy to listen to. The episodes are also short enough to keep things interesting and engaging the whole way through. I especially like the expert insight at the end of each episode, which adds key facts and context to complement the story. It’s a really well-produced and enjoyable podcast.
An absolutely beautiful podcast. The stories are so moving and offer a much needed sense of hope. It makes me feel emotional every time I listen and leaves me wanting to be a better, more helpful person. A must-listen for anyone who needs a little more brightness in their day.
This is definitely one of my favorite podcasts. It feels good to know that there are people willing to help out a stranger when they need it most.

Stories of everyday heroes in dangerous moments where strangers become lifesavers anchor episodes that blend dramatic firsthand rescues with practical, expert guidance. A common through-line is the human connection under pressure: CPR, rescue improvisation, and post-event safety tips from specialists. The format—real narratives plus expert context—helps listeners understand not only what happened, but how to respond in emergencies, making it useful for adventurers, caregivers, and families alike. A notable angle is the consistency of OnStar's branding as a facilitator of safety and connection, with guests ranging from survivors to professionals who illuminate prevention and preparedness. Potential listeners can expect gripping, hopeful stor... more
